Labinsk’s Vital Bridge Reopens Early After Major Repairs
A vital bridge connecting Labinsk and the village of Volnoye has been repaired and reopened ahead of schedule. The project, worth over 440 million rubles, was completed by the contractor earlier than planned, much to the relief of local residents who had been advocating for the repairs.
The bridge, which serves as a crucial link between two regions, significantly shortens the route to the regional capital. The repair work included replacing the entire road surface, installing new lighting, and updating guardrails. Only 13 supports from the original structure remained, which were reinforced and encased in concrete.
The project was funded through a combination of federal government funds and regional budgets, with the contract for construction and financing organized by the Russian Ministry of Transport. The bridge in Labinsk was added to the list of priority infrastructure projects in Krasnodar Krai, highlighting its importance.
The bridge repair project has not only improved safety and connectivity but also demonstrated the government's commitment to addressing local concerns and maintaining critical infrastructure. With major repairs on the A-147 highway in Sochi also set to be completed by the end of the year, the region continues to prioritize transportation improvements.
