Sarah Cook, a Democrat running in Lampeter-Strasburg, completed the PA Family Voter Guide survey to represent her views and counter the organization's anti-LGBTQ+ stance. This year, only three Republican candidates, including Danielle and Stephen Lindemuth in Elizabethtown Area and Richard Garber in Hempfield, responded to the survey, a significant decrease from 22 in 2023.

The candidates' views on key issues have also evolved. While they previously emphasized topics like school choice and critical race theory, this year they have placed less focus on these hot-button issues. For instance, Stephen Lindemuth supports a tax credit for school choice with restrictions, while Richard Garber and Danielle Lindemuth remain undecided until legislation is proposed. Richard Garber, the sole Republican candidate in Hempfield to complete the survey, did so at the request of the institute, not to push an agenda.
