Landshut Braces for Two-Day Public Transport Strike in Late February

Public transport in Landshut will face major disruptions later this month due to a planned strike. The United Services Union (ver.di) has announced a two-day nationwide walkout on February 27 and 28, 2026. Most bus services in the city will be severely reduced during this period.

The strike will hit Landshut's bus network hard, with only minimal services running on both days. Route 609, connecting Old Town, Central Station, Münchnerau, and Gündlkoferau, will remain unaffected and operate as normal.

Some school and commuter lines—E10, E28, E29, E33, E34, E74, E76, and E77—will still run on February 27. These services will be handled by a partner company of Landshut Public Utilities. For updates on any additional services during the strike, passengers are advised to check the official website, www.stadtwerke-our, or the SWL app each morning. No further details have been released about which other cities or regions will join the action.

The strike follows calls from ver.di for better pay and conditions in municipal transport. Residents relying on buses should prepare for limited options over the two days. Official updates will confirm any last-minute changes to services.
