Landshut Transforms Repentance Day Into a Children’s Workplace Adventure
The Day of Repentance and Prayer held a unique significance this year in the district of Landshut. Instead of a typical public holiday, it was converted into Children's Day, enabling youngsters to participate in their parents' work at the main event. The event, now in its 16th year, has evolved into a beloved tradition for local families.
Around 50 children assembled in the grand council chamber, where District Administrator Peter Dreier greeted them. They engaged in an open Q&A, inquiring about his role and their parents' jobs. Following the discussion, the group shared a snack in the canteen before proceeding to the next activity.
The event provided children with a firsthand experience of their parents' workplaces while enjoying interactive activities. With its increasing popularity, the tradition is poised to persist in the coming years. The district views it as a crucial aspect of supporting employees with families.
