Landshut’s €3.5M Hofberg Fire Station Opens After Years of Planning
Landshut's new Hofberg fire station was inaugurated on Saturday, July 2024. The €3.5 million project, primarily funded by the city and possibly regional subsidies, was completed after three years of design and construction, involving 9,300 hours of internal planning. The two-story building boasts an energy-efficient design and a green façade, with a focus on biodiversity and species conservation. It features a vehicle bay for five emergency response vehicles, along with separate areas for changing rooms, storage, training, and administration. The station is situated beside the water tower on Hofberg Hill and is part of the City of Landshut’s fire department. The Free State of Bavaria contributed approximately €345,000 towards the project. Mayor Alexander Putz expressed gratitude to volunteer firefighters and highlighted the city's dedication in keeping costs relatively low. The new Hofberg fire station was officially handed over by Gerhard Mayer, head of the Building Management Office, to unit commander Franz Ramsauer and his deputy, Stephan Wendleder. The station is now ready to serve and protect the Landshut community.
