Landshut's New Cycling Guide Unveils 29 Scenic Routes for Every Rider
A new cycling tour guide for the Landshut region has launched, offering 29 varied routes for riders of all levels. The guide covers paths within the district and city, as well as scenic trails beyond. Free copies will be handed out at the upcoming Landshut Environmental Fair in March 2026.
The Landshut District Authority and the city worked together to create the guide under the Region Landshut initiative. Each route includes a map, a short description, and access to extra details via QR code or the erleben.landshut.de website. Points of interest, such as rest stops and museums, are marked along every trail.
One standout feature is the NiederbayernTOUR, a 240-kilometre route split into seven stages. For those seeking shorter trips, the guide also suggests after-work rides starting at just 14 kilometres. Cyclists can even bring their bikes on Südostbayernbahn trains for free, thanks to funding from the districts. A unique addition is the *Time Machine* app, which provides historical context during rides. This digital companion sets the Landshut guide apart, as no other Bavarian region currently offers a similar tool. The guide will make its first appearance at the Landshut Environmental Fair from March 13–15, 2026, at the Region Landshut booth (H009). After the event, it will be available at local tourism offices and online at *www.erleben.landshut.de*, alongside the Leisure Guide.
The new cycling guide expands outdoor options in Landshut, combining physical routes with digital enhancements. Free train transport for bikes and the Time Machine app aim to make exploring the region easier and more engaging. Copies will be distributed at the Environmental Fair before wider release.
