Late-night Berlin brawl leaves one injured and two fleeing
A late-night brawl at a Berlin restaurant left one man injured and two others fleeing the scene. The incident unfolded just before 11 p.m. on Rathausstraße in the city centre. Police were called after a violent confrontation between patrons and a staff member.
The trouble began when two men, aged 30 and 31, became loud and disruptive inside the restaurant. A 40-year-old employee repeatedly asked them to leave, but they refused. The situation escalated into a physical fight between the two guests, the staff member, and an unidentified bystander.
The 31-year-old man suffered a cut to his neck and was later taken to hospital for treatment. A voluntary breath test showed his blood alcohol level at around 0.18%. The 40-year-old employee, who had mouth injuries, declined medical help. Both the 30-year-old and the unidentified man fled before police arrived. The employee chased them outside until officers took over. The 31-year-old and the 40-year-old were briefly held but released once their identities were confirmed.
The altercation resulted in one hospitalisation and two men leaving the scene. Police confirmed no arrests were made after verifying the identities of those involved. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
