Late-Night Drug Bust in Berlin: Suspect and Accomplice Arrested
In a late-night operation, law enforcement officers in Berlin's Friedrichshain district apprehended a suspected drug courier. The incident unfolded around 11:45 PM on Torellstraße, where a traffic check led to the discovery of illicit substances and other contraband.
The suspect, a 32-year-old driver, was found in possession of an Apple car. Upon inspection, officers discovered a bag containing drugs and several iPhones within the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the presence of cocaine and marijuana, along with a knife readily accessible. The driver admitted to drug use and confessed to not having a valid driver's license.
Both the driver and the car's occupant were subsequently taken to a police holding cell and transferred to the investigating commissioner of Police Directorate 5 (City) for further questioning. The seized items, including money and the four iPhones, were also handed over to the authorities.
A judge's hearing is being considered to issue two arrest warrants, as the investigation into the suspected drug courier and their accomplice continues. No specific details about the case have been released, and the names of the investigating officers remain confidential at this time.
