Late-Night Drug Bust in Friedrichshain Nets Suspected Courier, Illicit Items
In a late-night traffic stop in Friedrichshain, police apprehended a suspected drug courier. The 32-year-old driver, who admitted to drug use and lacked a valid license, was driving a Smart car with a 24-year-old passenger. A search of the vehicle revealed money, iPhones, packaged drugs, and a knife.
The car was stopped around 11:45 PM on Torellstraße. Officers spotted a bag containing drugs and several iPhones inside the vehicle, leading to a search of the driver and passenger. Both occupants were taken to a police holding cell and later transferred to the investigating commissioner of Police Directorate 5.
The driver agreed to the search, which resulted in the discovery of the illicit items. The public prosecutor's office is now handling the investigation into the suspected drug dealer from Friedrichshain. A judge's hearing is being considered to issue two arrest warrants.
