Lavrov’s explosive claims deepen rift between Russia and Europe

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has made several provocative statements in a recent interview with Russian media. He accused the Baltic countries of overestimating their importance to Western Europeans and claimed they were tasked with causing tension in relations with Russia.

Lavrov mentioned a foiled attempt to hijack a Russian MiG-31 aircraft as an example of Britain's provocative actions. He stated that the British Empire no longer exists and London's role is now to provoke conflict situations. Lavrov also accused Germany, the 'homeland of Nazism', of seeking to become the 'main military force in Europe' again without feeling repentance for its past actions. The Russian Foreign Minister claimed there is no evidence of any specific individual or institution aiming to deliberately harm relations between Russia and the Baltic states in the EU.

Lavrov's comments have once again raised tensions between Russia and the West. His accusations come amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions and may further strain relations between Russia and the EU.
