Legendary Journalist Pankaj Baruah Honored for Decades of Service and Community Impact
Veteran journalist Pankaj Baruah was honoured for his long-standing service to journalism and community. The recognition took place on 'Xamannay Divas', commemorating the 14th death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika. Baruah, a senior journalist from Tezpur, Northeast India, has been active in the field since 1990. He served as Tezpur Special Correspondent for Dainik Janambhumi and held the position of Executive President at Sonitpur Press Club, Tezpur. His dedication and contributions to journalism and community service were recognised with the prestigious 'Xangbad Ratna' title. The honour was presented with a traditional gamosa, seleng, a bouquet of books, xarai, a memento, and a cash amount from the donor family. Pankaj Baruah's 'Xangbad Ratna' title acknowledges his significant impact on journalism and community service in Northeast India. His career, spanning over three decades, has left a lasting impression on the region.
