Leipzig Exhibition Bridges Generations Through Dialogue and Art

A new exhibition in Leipzig is bringing together people of all ages to discuss fairness, communication, and the future. The show opens on Sunday, October 19, at RealLabor Leipzig, running from 4-6 PM. It follows a project where 30 participants, aged 10 to 76, explored how different generations can work together better.

The exhibition comes from THEATER DER JUNGEN WELT (TDJW), which created the Council of Generations to encourage conversations between young and old. Over several months, the group of 30—ranging from children to seniors—looked at prejudices, barriers to participation, and ways to improve intergenerational dialogue. Their discussions were recorded in a living internet archive and first shown at the 12th Festival of Politics in Independent Theater.

The exhibition offers a chance to see how different age groups can collaborate on shared challenges. After its run at RealLabor Leipzig, the project’s findings will remain available through the living internet archive. Organisers hope the discussions will inspire more cities to explore intergenerational solutions in the gen x years and beyond.
