Leipzig Man Caught Trying to Pay with Fake €20 at Self-Checkout
On Saturday evening, a 46-year-old German man attempted to pay for his groceries at a self-checkout terminal in a supermarket on Leipziger Straße. When the machine rejected his €20 note, staff examined the bill and found clear evidence it was counterfeit.
The man claimed he had no idea how he came into possession of the fake banknote. He ultimately paid the amount due with genuine cash. Police are now investigating the incident and have confiscated the counterfeit bill.
