Leipzig trams reroute Lines 9 and 10 to avoid persistent delays
Tram services in Leipzig are undergoing significant alterations this week, with Lines 9 and 10 adopting new routes. The modifications follow persistent delays, with both lines now circumventing the Berliner Brücke zone. Passengers are advised to stay informed for additional updates.
From Monday, Line 9 will traverse from Göttinger Bogen to Rennbahnkreuz, Franckeplatz, and Riebeckplatz before joining Line 10's path toward Neustadt via Magdeburger Straße. Meanwhile, Line 10 will operate from Soltauer Straße to Rennbahnkreuz, Marktplatz, and Steintor, then continue as Line 9 toward Neustadt. Both routes will bypass Berliner Brücke entirely.
The temporary adjustments aim to lessen delays on both lines. Although the precise cause of the disruptions remains unclear, the new routes will remain active for at least the next few days. Commuters should allocate extra time for their journeys and keep track of official announcements for any further changes.
