Liechtenstein Museum Wilfersdorf earns Austria’s prestigious quality seal for cultural excellence
The Liechtenstein Museum Wilfersdorf in Mistelbach district has been recognised for its high standards, receiving the Austrian Museum Quality Seal. This accolade, awarded by ICOM Austria and the Austrian Museum Association, confirms the museum's commitment to ethical guidelines and preservation of cultural heritage.
The museum's permanent exhibition delves into the history of the Princely Family of Liechtenstein, tracing its roots back to the Weinviertel region. It also hosts a local history exhibition and rotating special exhibitions, providing a rich tapestry of local and regional history.
Visitors can enjoy a music program and an annual Schlossfestival, adding cultural vibrancy to the museum's offerings. The castle cellar houses a Heuriger, serving regional wines, and a vinotheque, showcasing the region's wine culture and history. The extensive wine cellar in the basement further enhances this focus.
The Liechtenstein Museum Wilfersdorf stands out among nearly 300 museums awarded the Austrian Museum Quality Seal. Its commitment to high-quality exhibitions, services, and ethical practices ensures it remains a beacon of cultural heritage preservation. This year, 55 museums had their certification extended, and 14, including Wilfersdorf, received it for the first time, demonstrating the museum's dedication to excellence.
