Lindau’s Adult Education Center Expands to Sigmarszell by 2026
A new branch of the Lindau Adult Education Center is set to open in Sigmarszell by 2026. The project has already gained approval from several local councils, including Hergensweiler and Sigmarszell. Support from neighbouring municipalities will now determine its final go-ahead.
The initiative to expand the adult education center into Sigmarszell has made steady progress. Both Hergensweiler and Sigmarszell councils have already given their formal backing. Weißenburg’s municipal council has also voted in favour of the plan.
Final approval rests with Oberbürgermeister Jürgen Schröppel, who leads Weißenburg’s city administration. As chair of the Stadtrat, he will sign off on the project once all conditions are met. The key requirement is financial support from the three member municipalities—Hergensweiler, Sigmarszell, and Weißenburg.
Each town will contribute voluntary funds based on its population size. These payments will secure the branch’s operation when it opens in 2026.
The new Sigmarszell branch depends on the agreed contributions from all three municipalities. If approved, it will extend the Lindau adult education center’s reach into the region. The facility is scheduled to begin serving residents in early 2026.
