Lithuania denies drone incursion into Belarus as ‘fake news’
A drone reportedly flew from Lithuania into Belarus, sparking claims of a border violation. Lithuanian Defence Minister Robertas Kaunas has rejected these accusations, calling them baseless. He described the incident as a deliberate attempt to spread false information.
Kaunas stated that no Lithuanian drone crossed into Belarusian airspace. He dismissed the allegations as 'fake news' and insisted the aircraft was 'not Lithuanian'. The minister also questioned the origin of photos and recordings linked to the drone, labelling them an 'interpretation by an unfriendly state'.
The Lithuanian government has firmly denied any wrongdoing in the drone incident. Kaunas’ remarks suggest the claims were fabricated to create tension. No further details have been provided about the source of the disputed images or recordings.
