Lithuania’s Riflemen’s Union Expands with First Foreign Company in Norway
A new company of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union has officially formed in Norway. This marks the first time a foreign unit of the organisation has grown large enough to reach company size. The development follows years of steady expansion among Lithuanian rifle enthusiasts abroad.
The rifle squad in Norway began as a small group but has now expanded to the size of a full company. Its growth makes it the first foreign unit within the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union to achieve this status. The milestone was formalised with the approval of the company’s charter, establishing its structure and operations.
Nikolai Juozelyunas has been named as the new commander of the company. His appointment comes as the unit solidifies its role within the wider union. While the origins of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union in Norway remain undocumented, the group’s official recognition confirms its place in the diaspora community.
The establishment of the company strengthens ties between Lithuanian rifle traditions and the diaspora in Norway. With a formal charter and appointed leadership, the unit is now set to operate as a fully recognised part of the union. Further details on its activities and membership may follow in the coming months.
