Hongqi's Bulletproof Car to Make a Comeback at Beijing Auto Show
China's luxury car brand, Honqi (Red Flag), is set to make a splash at the Beijing Auto Show this year, with the display of the CA7600J. This vehicle gained significant attention last year after its appearance at the 1-Oktober military parade in Beijing, where it was seen escorting China's President Hu Jintao.
The CA7600J, a 6-meter long, bullet-proof vehicle, is powered by a 300kw V12 engine. It was first showcased at the Beijing Auto Show in 2021, having been previously unveiled during the October 1 parade in Beijing in 2020.
In other automotive news, FAW Group, the parent company of FAW-Hongqi, has announced a planned 10% stake acquisition in Stellantis-backed Leapmotor. This move is expected to strengthen FAW Group's position in the Chinese electric vehicle market.
Meanwhile, Chinese auto regulators are considering a potential ban on retractable door handles, aiming to improve safety standards in the industry.
FAW Hongqi has also reported a breakthrough in hydrogen fuel cell vehicle development, which could pave the way for a more sustainable future in the automotive industry. More details about this development are expected to be announced in the coming months.
