Long Beach man arrested after allegedly killing father with car
A 50-year-old man in Long Beach has been arrested after allegedly killing his 89-year-old father with a car. The incident took place on Saturday in the city's Wrigley Heights neighbourhood. Police confirmed the victim died at the scene.
The suspect, identified as Robert Porter, was taken into custody on suspicion of murder. Officers found the elderly victim, William Porter, pinned beneath a vehicle. He was pronounced dead shortly after.
Robert Porter, the victim's son, remains in custody. His bail has been set at $2 million while the investigation continues.
