Lord Mayor Hails Delay in Ulm Main Station ESTW Expansion
Lord Mayor Martin Ansbacher has hailed a delay in the electronic interlocking (ESTW) expansion project at Ulm main station as 'truly excellent news'. The city administration had previously requested a postponement.
The project, involving Deutsche Bahn InfraGO and local authorities, was initially planned for a four-week continuous closure. However, it will now be carried out in multiple phases, starting at the end of 2027 and finishing by 2029.
The delay will also impact essential works related to the B10 road renovation. The ESTW work would have coincided with long-scheduled municipal construction projects, causing significant disruption. The delay will now allow these projects to proceed without major interference.
The delay in the ESTW expansion project at Ulm main station has been welcomed by the city administration. It will allow other essential works to proceed without major disruption and provide a more manageable timeline for the project's completion.
