Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli Split After 27 Years, Varsity Blues Scandal

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, the couple at the heart of the Varsity Blues college admissions scandal, have separated after 27 years of marriage. The split comes over five years after they pleaded guilty in the high-profile case. Loughlin served two months in prison, while Giannulli served five months.

In 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli agreed to serve prison time as part of a plea deal. They admitted to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, having paid bribes to secure their daughters' admission to university. The couple insisted they believed their payments were legitimate donations, but a judge rejected their bid to dismiss the case over allegations of misconduct by FBI agents involved in the investigation. The organisation they allegedly bribed was a fraudulent college admissions consultancy involved in falsifying athletic credentials. Loughlin and Giannulli are now living apart and taking a break from their marriage.

Loughlin and Giannulli, who married in 1997 and share two daughters, are among dozens of wealthy parents charged in the scandal organised by college admissions consultant William 'Rick' Singer. Their separation comes as a significant development following their involvement in the case and subsequent prison sentences.
