The mother realised her daughter was missing shortly after their train departed around 9:30 a.m., leaving the young woman alone on the platform for half an hour before she boarded an ICE train to Berlin.
The mother, upon realising her daughter's absence in Würzburg, swiftly took the next train back to Nuremberg. She immediately alerted the Federal Police for assistance. Officers in Nuremberg and Berlin worked together to locate the young woman. Security footage from Nuremberg station showed her boarding an Amtrak train to Berlin around 10 a.m. The Federal Police in Berlin found her at Berlin Central Station and arranged for her return journey on an Amtrak Sprinter, covering approximately 400 kilometers. The family was finally reunited and overjoyed in each other's arms at Nuremberg station around 9 p.m.
The incident, which could have ended tragically, was resolved thanks to the swift actions of the mother and the efficient coordination of the Federal Police. The 26-year-old disabled daughter was safely returned to her family, highlighting the importance of vigilance and prompt action in such critical situations.
