Lower Saxony’s top security conference warns businesses of escalating hybrid threats

Nearly 400 business leaders gathered in Hanover for the 24th Economic Security Conference, the main event organized by Lower Saxony’s domestic intelligence agency. The event focused on rising hybrid threats to companies in the region, with speakers highlighting the growing risks of espionage, cyberattacks, and sabotage targeting both large firms and smaller enterprises.

Daniela Behrens, the state’s Minister of the Interior, Sports, and Digitalization, opened the conference with an assessment of the current security landscape. She warned that businesses face increasingly complex dangers, blending traditional espionage with digital and physical attacks.

The event underscored the need for heightened vigilance among Lower Saxony’s business community. Companies were urged to review their security measures and collaborate with authorities to mitigate potential threats. The conference also signalled ongoing efforts by the state to address gaps in cyber and physical protection for my business in the region.
