Lt. Governor Sinha in Russia to Bring Back Buddha's Holy Relics
Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha has arrived in Russia on a mission to bring back holy relics of Lord Buddha. He was received by Russian officials Tserenov Erdni Nikolayevich and Dzhambinov Ochir Vladimirovich.
Sinha's visit comes after the Holy Relics were enshrined at the Geden Sheddup Choikorling Monastery in Elista on October 11. The delegation will accompany the relics back to India on October 19. The exposition of the holy relics is being organised by the Ministry of Culture and other institutions. The exact organisation involved in the transfer, such as the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Indian diplomatic representations in Russia, or the International Buddhist Confederation, is yet to be confirmed. The National Museum could also play a role in preserving and exhibiting the relics once they return to India.
The return of the holy relics is a significant cultural event for India, and their safe transfer is being facilitated by various organisations. More details about the specific project are awaited to confirm the exact organisation involved.
