Luenen’s beer mats spark conversations about democracy and cohesion
The 'Partnership for Democracy Luenen', backed by the federal 'Democracy lives!' program, is fostering democratic values and social cohesion in Luenen. The project, led by Horst Engel and Christa Damschen, uses beer mats as a unique tool for promoting these ideals.
The beer mats, designed in collaboration with students from the 'Lifelong Learning' program at the University of Muenster, are distributed in public facilities, inns, and event venues across Luenen. They feature prompts for discussions on democratic values and social cohesion.
The project supports initiatives that encourage a diverse, respectful, and democratic society. Applications for individual measures can still be submitted until October 5. Interested parties can contact Stefan Wrazidlo for more information.
The 'Partnership for Democracy Luenen' is actively engaging the community in discussions about democracy using innovative methods. The beer mats serve as a reminder of the importance of democratic values and social cohesion in everyday life.
