Lufthansa Cargo has taken another significant step in its commitment to the South American market with the addition of a new Boeing 777F freighter. Named "¡Hola Argentina!", the aircraft made its debut at Buenos Aires Airport on April 24, 2025.

The Boeing 777F aircraft has been part of Lufthansa Cargo's pure long-haul fleet since 2021. This latest addition is a testament to the air cargo network's growing demand in the region, particularly for export goods such as agricultural products, raw materials, and energy, as well as high-value imported goods like machinery and vehicles.

The new aircraft, registered as D-ALFL, is part of a tradition where Lufthansa Cargo names its planes following the logic "Say hello around the world". This naming underscores the airline's close connection to the global air cargo market.

Lufthansa Cargo currently operates flights to Argentina since 1970, and the route network includes Buenos Aires, Curitiba, Viracopos (VCP), and Montevideo (MVD). In the Summer 2025 schedule, Buenos Aires and Curitiba will each have one more weekly freighter flight, making a total of four weekly freighter flights to South America.

To further strengthen its commitment to the region, Lufthansa Cargo has established Rome as a new hub through an expanded cooperation with ITA Airways. This partnership will increase marketed cargo capacity by nearly 20%, with new destinations including the Seychelles and more flights to Bangkok and Africa. The cooperation will also result in up to 87 weekly freighter rotations to 36 destinations and an extended Transpacific offer.

Lufthansa Cargo's fleet consists of twelve owned Boeing 777F aircraft and six through AeroLogic, a joint venture with DHL. In addition, the fleet includes four Airbus A321F aircraft for short and medium-haul operations.

With her extensive experience in print, digital, and social media content, Sauer brings a unique perspective to the discussion of mobility and its impact on the air cargo industry. Her insights will undoubtedly contribute to a better understanding of the industry's role in connecting the world and driving economic growth.

In conclusion, Lufthansa Cargo's latest move to strengthen its commitment to the South American market with the new Boeing 777F freighter and additional frequencies is a significant step in the right direction. The air cargo network's demand in the region continues to grow, and Lufthansa Cargo is well-positioned to meet that demand and support the region's economic growth.
