Lünen Inspects Four Bridges Oct 27-31 for Safety
Lünen's Road Construction Department has announced bridge inspections from October 27 to 31, 2025. The routine checks aim to ensure traffic safety and prevent deterioration. Four bridges will be inspected, causing minor traffic delays and sidewalk closures.
The inspections will target bridges on Konrad-Adenauer-Straße, Lange Straße, Kurt-Schumacher-Straße, and Zwolle Allee. A specialized bridge inspection vehicle with a telescopic work platform will be used to access the underside of each structure. While vehicles can still cross the bridges, intermittent minor delays are expected.
Sidewalks near the work areas will be closed for safety reasons. Pedestrians and cyclists will be redirected to the opposite side of the street via signage. The city has commissioned an external engineering firm to conduct the inspections, although the firm's name remains unknown due to lack of search results.
The city of Lünen urges road users to understand the temporary inconveniences caused by the bridge inspections. The inspections are crucial for maintaining traffic safety and preventing major bridge deterioration. The Road Construction Department assures efforts to keep disruptions to a minimum during the five-day inspection period.
