Lünen’s new mayoral leadership takes shape for 2026 transition
Lünen's new mayoral team has been finalised. Dr. Christian Klicki will serve as the First Deputy Mayor, starting October 1, 2026. He will assist Mayor Martina Förster-Teutenberg in her duties. The mayoral team will consist of three members. Alongside Dr. Klicki, Thorsten Redeker has been elected as the Second Deputy Mayor. Redeker and the other deputy, Ferhat Aydin, will represent Mayor Förster-Teutenberg at official engagements when she is unavailable. Dr. Klicki's appointment comes after Arnold Reeker, the previous deputy, stepped down. The new team is expected to bring fresh perspectives and support to the mayor's office. Dr. Christian Klicki, Thorsten Redeker, and Ferhat Aydin will serve as the deputy mayors of Lünen, supporting Mayor Martina Förster-Teutenberg in her role. Their appointments are effective from October 1, 2026.
