Lünopoli 2026 Returns: Kids Build Their Own City This Summer
Lünopoli, the popular children's holiday city, will return in 2026. Organised by Lünen's Youth Welfare and Promotion Department, the event will run from July 20 to 31 at Rosa Parks School. Support from Unna District has made this year's programme possible once again. The two-week event invites children aged 7 to 11 to design their own city. Participants take on different roles, work jobs, and engage in democratic decision-making. They also earn a special currency called Lünis as part of the experience.
Registration opens at Lükaz from May 5 to May 8, 2026. The programme runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, with a participation fee of €100, which includes a light lunch snack. Financial support is available for eligible families through the Education and Participation Package (BuT).
Lünopoli offers children a chance to explore teamwork, creativity, and responsibility in a fun setting. With registration opening in May, organisers expect strong interest from local families. The event continues its tradition of providing an engaging summer activity for young participants.
