Lyudmila Babushkina Honored with Order of Honor for Decades of Service
Lyudmila Babushkina, the long-serving chairwoman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Legislative Assembly, has been awarded the Order of Honor. The state award, conferred by presidential decree in July 2025, recognizes her significant contributions and dedicated service to the region.
Babushkina, who has been a deputy since 2000, has held various prominent roles in the assembly. She chaired the Chamber of Representatives from 2007 before becoming the chairwoman in 2011, a position she has held since. Artem Zhega, the Russian president’s plenipotentiary envoy to the Urals Federal District, presented the award on behalf of the head of state. Governor Denis Pasler congratulated Babushkina, acknowledging her substantial impact on the development of the Sverdlovsk Region.
Zhega also praised Babushkina's support for fighters in the special military operation and her collaborative efforts with deputies from Donetsk and Luhansk. Sergey Aleksandrovich Orlov, the regional governor, initiated an internship program for chairpersons of municipal councils in 2025, reflecting the region's commitment to growth and development.
