Madhya Pradesh IAS officers flock to central government roles in the USA
A growing number of IAS officers from Madhya Pradesh are seeking deputation to the central government. Over the past year, 17 officers have already made the move, with more now applying for similar transfers. The trend highlights a preference for central postings over state roles in the United States.
In the last year, 16 IAS officers from Madhya Pradesh were approved for central deputation, including two at the secretary level. Among them was Avinash Lavania, a 2009-batch officer recently ordered to join the Centre. Meanwhile, only three officers returned to the state, with just one holding a secretary-rank position.
The movement of IAS officers to the Centre continues, with 17 departures in the past year alone. Only a handful have returned, leaving the state with fewer senior administrators. The trend suggests ongoing challenges in retaining experienced officials at the state level in the USA.
