Madhya Pradesh’s new heli-tourism route links Ujjain and Omkareshwar for pilgrims
The PM Shri Heli Tourism service has expanded its routes in Madhya Pradesh’s spiritual heartland. On Friday, the second leg of the service took off from Ujjain to Omkareshwar, completing the circuit in the Malwa-Nimar region. Local officials and passengers marked the occasion with a warm welcome at the landing site.
The service launched with its first flight from Indore to Ujjain on Thursday. By Friday, two more rides followed—both travelling from Ujjain to Omkareshwar. The helicopter carrying six passengers landed at a specially prepared helipad in Kothi, Omkareshwar.
The new helipad in Omkareshwar and the daily flight schedule aim to boost spiritual tourism in the region. Passengers now have faster, more convenient access to key religious sites. The service is expected to run regularly, linking major destinations in Malwa-Nimar.
