Magadan cracks down on illegal parking and landscaping violations with steep fines
The Magadan Administrative Commission met on November 21, 2023, to address breaches of landscaping and city maintenance rules. Among the issues discussed were illegal parking on green spaces and unauthorised construction work by a local property owner.
During the session, officials reviewed cases under Article 6.20 of the Magadan Region’s Law on Administrative Offenses. This includes drivers parking on lawns and landscaped areas, an offence that carries fines. Individuals face penalties of 3,000–5,000 rubles, while officials could pay 5,000–30,000 rubles. Legal entities risk even higher fines, ranging from 20,000 to 80,000 rubles.
The session highlighted ongoing efforts to enforce landscaping and maintenance regulations in Magadan. Property owners and drivers must now comply with the rules or risk financial penalties. The commission’s decisions will be implemented in the coming weeks.
