Magadan’s Gymnasium No. 13 celebrates 60 years of shaping Kolyma’s future leaders
Gymnasium No. 13, named after Hero of Russia Ivan Kabanov, celebrated its 60th anniversary. The Magadan Regional Duma recognised the school's achievements, presenting gifts and certificates to the staff and teachers. Among the honourees were Angelina Biryukova, the director and an Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation, and several outstanding educators.
The gymnasium, which has graduated over 6,000 residents of Kolyma, including prominent figures in various fields, was praised for its balance of tradition and innovation. Anatoly Shirokov, Chairman of the Magadan Regional Duma, attended the anniversary and highlighted the school's diverse classes, such as engineering, IT, and a military-patriotic club called 'Rodimtsev Division'.
Several teachers were awarded for their dedication. Igor Vladimirovich Krimenko and Alla Nikolaevna Tyurina received the 'Thanks of the Magadan Regional Assembly'. Krimenko was also awarded the 'Order of Honor', while Tyurina received the medal 'For Valiant Labor'. The gymnasium continues to look towards the future, aiming to create and guide Kolyma's next generation.
