Magadan’s Kindergarten No. 42 Reopens After Months of Roof Repairs
Kindergarten No. 42 in Magadan has reopened after months of repairs to fix a long-standing roof leak. The issue had caused flooding and mold during heavy rain, forcing the facility to close in August. Now, with a repaired roof and two new groups added, 70 children attend the kindergarten, and plans are underway to open a nursery for toddlers soon.
The kindergarten’s closure began in August when the damaged roof could no longer be ignored. Repairs took over two months, and the facility finally welcomed children back in late October. Alongside the fixes, two additional groups were introduced to accommodate more pupils.
Kindergarten No. 42 now operates with a repaired roof and expanded capacity. The call for a city-wide evaluation of preschool buildings remains pending, leaving questions about the condition of other kindergartens unanswered. Without further action, similar issues could persist in other facilities across Magadan.
