Magadan’s ROC transforms public service with record engagement and faster responses
The Regional Operations Center (ROC) in Magadan Oblast has seen a sharp rise in public engagement since its launch. Established five years ago, the center now handles nearly three and a half times more inquiries than in its first year. Officials credit its efficiency in resolving issues and improving communication between residents and local authorities.
The ROC opened on November 23, 2020, as part of a nationwide initiative introduced by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Its goal was to create a direct channel for citizens to raise concerns with regional governments. Over the past five years, staff have processed over 55,000 requests, with housing and utility services remaining the most common topics.
In the last 12 months alone, the team addressed more than 15,100 inquiries. Snow removal topped the list of frequent complaints. Response times have also improved significantly, now averaging just 3 hours and 32 minutes per case.
The center's work extends beyond handling requests. It conducts detailed analyses of public concerns, providing policymakers with reliable data for decision-making. Svetlana Leksina, head of the region's sports department, highlighted how these insights help shape local policies.
Governor Sergei Nosov recently acknowledged the ROC's progress, congratulating its director, Pavel Beregovoy, and the entire team on their anniversary. The center has become a key platform for dialogue, systematically tackling urgent issues raised by Magadan's residents.
The ROC's growth reflects its role as a vital link between the government and the public. With faster response times and data-driven solutions, it continues to address the region's most pressing challenges. Over 55,000 processed inquiries demonstrate its expanding influence in Magadan Oblast.
