Mahama inspects accelerated progress on the long-delayed Ofankor-Nsawam road
President John Dramani Mahama has visited the Ofankor-Nsawam road project and praised its recent progress. The key route, linking Accra to the Eastern Region, has faced years of delays but is now moving forward faster than expected. Mahama urged contractors to push for an even earlier completion date.
The Ofankor-Nsawam road has long been a critical but troubled project. Funding shortages, unpaid contractors, and demolition hurdles repeatedly stalled work. During an earlier inspection, Mahama noted these issues had slowed progress significantly.
Once finished, the upgraded Ofankor-Nsawam road will enhance transport links between Accra and the Eastern Region. Faster travel and reduced bottlenecks should benefit both commuters and traders. The government’s push for an early completion reflects the project’s importance to the area’s development.
