Maharashtra’s BJP and Mahayuti allies unite for 2029 state and Lok Sabha elections
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has confirmed that the BJP and its Mahayuti allies, including Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, will contest the 2029 Lok Sabha and state elections together. His statement follows recent speculation about tensions within the alliance, particularly between Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Shinde.
Fadnavis addressed concerns by clarifying that no serious dispute exists between him and Shinde. He compared their relationship to that of brothers in a family who may occasionally disagree but remain united. This reassurance comes after State BJP president Ravindra Chavan publicly targeted Shinde, creating unease within the coalition.
The confirmation of a joint electoral strategy provides clarity for the BJP and its allies in Maharashtra. With Fadnavis and Shinde reaffirming their partnership, the coalition now shifts focus to preparing for the upcoming state and national elections.
