Stable Glühwein Prices at the Mainz Christmas Market - Mainz Christmas Market Turns 50 with Festive Traditions and Charity Mugs
The Mainz Christmas Market celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, a long-standing tradition in the city. Running from November 27 to December 23, organisers expect around 250,000 visitors. A special anniversary mug will also be on sale, with part of the proceeds going to charity.
This year’s market will run for nearly a month, opening its doors on November 27 and closing on December 23. Despite rising costs, vendors have agreed to keep mulled wine prices steady at around four euros. Live music, however, will be mostly absent to avoid GEMA licensing fees—except during the opening ceremony.
The anniversary edition of the market offers familiar treats at unchanged prices. Visitors can enjoy mulled wine for four euros while supporting charity through mug sales. The event continues with additional markets after Christmas, extending the festive season.
