Mainz Launches Unique Disaster Food Unit: QRT-C
Mainz has launched a unique disaster protection unit, the Quick Response Team for Catering (QRT-C). Inaugurated on October 11 at Fire Station 2, the QRT-C aims to provide immediate food supply in major disasters and smaller events near me.
The QRT-C, led by Chief Inspector Stefan Behrendt, meets the latest state legal requirements. It can serve up to 300 personnel or citizens with warm and cold meals, even over extended periods. Catering will be provided both at Fire Station 2 and directly at deployment sites.
The team consists of more than 30 volunteers, with no prior experience in fire or disaster protection needed. They have been equipped with a field kitchen and a refrigerated trailer, with plans to acquire more vehicles. Mayor Nino Haase praised the QRT-C as an important step towards ensuring constant supply in emergencies.
Mainz's QRT-C is now operational, ready to provide crucial food support in disasters and events near me. With its dedicated volunteers and state-of-the-art equipment, it stands ready to serve those in need.
