Major Roadwork Begins on B51 and B68: Expect Delays
Starting October 13, extensive construction work commences on the B51 and B68 between Osnabrück-Nahne and Georgsmarienhütte. The Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport is overseeing the project, which involves renewing roadways and bike paths over a 3.3-kilometer stretch. Motorists should expect significant traffic restrictions and a reduced speed limit of 50 km/h.
The construction zone will see the roadways and bike paths renewed. Notably, some bike paths will be widened from 1.60 to 2.50 meters, improving cycling infrastructure.
During the construction period, traffic will be significantly restricted. Only one lane will be available in each direction, which may cause delays and congestion. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow the reduced speed limit for safety.
The construction work on the B51 and B68 is set to begin on October 13 and will continue for an unspecified duration. Motorists should anticipate traffic restrictions and reduced speeds in the area. The project aims to improve road and cycling infrastructure, benefiting both drivers and cyclists in the long run.
