Major Roadwork Planned for Thalwil Intersection Oct 20 - Nov 3
From October 20 to November 3, 2025, significant roadwork is set to take place at the intersection of Sihltal and Gattikonerstrasse in Thalwil. The project, managed by local authorities, aims to renew the road surface and traffic light systems, ensuring minimal disruption to commuters.
The road surface in the affected section is severely weathered and cracked. It will be completely replaced, down to the underlying gravel layer, to ensure a smooth and safe driving experience. The work will be carried out in two phases, with traffic controlled by a professional traffic management service.
The intersection's traffic light system will also receive attention. Partially damaged inductive loops will be replaced, ensuring the system functions efficiently. Despite the work, access to Langnau-Gattikon station will be maintained throughout the project.
To minimize traffic disruptions, construction work will be carried out in shifts, including evening and night shifts. This approach also takes advantage of good weather conditions, ensuring the work progresses smoothly.
The roadwork at the intersection of Sihltal and Gattikonerstrasse in Thalwil, from October 20 to November 3, 2025, is expected to improve road safety and traffic flow. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow any temporary traffic management instructions.
