Major Smuggling Ring Busted: 7 Checked, Forged Docs Seized
The Federal Police Criminal Investigation Unit in Frankfurt has launched a major operation targeting an organized group suspected of commercial and gang-related smuggling of foreigners and procurement of false official documents. Six search warrants were executed in Kassel, with seven individuals checked for potential illegal residence in the country.
The raids uncovered numerous forged identity documents, mobile phones, storage devices, jewelry, and cash. Authorities believe the group was smuggling Albanian and North Macedonian nationals into Germany as laborers, using forged Bulgarian documents to conceal their true nationality. Four suspects are believed to have been involved in the alleged smuggling offenses under sections 96 and 97 of the Residence Act (AufenthG) and the criminal code (StGB) for commercial forgery of official documents. While no individual named suspect was arrested in Kassel, multiple people were controlled during the raids, and the investigation is ongoing.
The search results have provided valuable evidence and insights into the alleged smuggling operation. The investigation is ongoing, targeting multiple individuals, and further updates are expected as the case progresses.
