Malaysia’s King strengthens UAE ties after high-level Dubai talks
His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, has returned home after a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates. The trip was organised at the invitation of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the visit, Sultan Ibrahim held discussions with Sheikh Mohamed on strengthening ties between Malaysia and the UAE. Topics included defence collaboration, investment opportunities, and food security initiatives.
The King arrived back at Senai International Airport on the final day of his trip. Waiting to greet him were Johor State Secretary Datuk Asman Shah Abd Rahman, Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani, and Comptroller of the Royal Household of Johor Colonel (Retd) Datuk Mohamed Perang Musa. No further details about the discussions have been made public.
The visit marks another step in diplomatic relations between the two nations. Officials from both countries have previously emphasised the importance of cooperation in key sectors. Sultan Ibrahim’s return concludes the short but significant trip to Dubai.
