Man, 23, Suspected of Stealing 131,000 Rubles in Yakutsk Bar
A 23-year-old man from Nyurba District is suspected of pilfering 131,000 rubles from a woman in Yakutsk at a bar. The suspect, whose identity remains unspecified, squandered the pilfered money on various expenses before a criminal case was opened.
The victim had withdrawn her savings earlier in the day, initially intending to go shopping. However, she altered her plans and visited a nightlife venue instead. During her time at the bar, the thief, a patron of the same establishment, managed to pilfer the 131,000 rubles from her bag.
Investigators have since traced the suspect's spending. He used the pilfered money for taxi rides, a visit to a sauna, alcohol, and groceries. Despite the suspect's attempts to dispose of the funds, part of the pilfered money has been recovered.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Russian Criminal Code for theft. The suspect's identity remains unknown, and further investigations are ongoing to bring the culprit to justice and recover the remaining pilfered funds.
