Man, 28, Arrested for Robbing 73-Year-Old Woman's Handbag in Neukölln
A 28-year-old man was arrested in Neukölln after stealing a 73-year-old woman's handbag in a department store on Hasenheide. The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. The Robbery Squad of Police Directorate 5 is investigating the case.
The elderly woman noticed the theft immediately and alerted store detectives. They confronted the suspect, who resisted with punches and kicks, briefly dropping the bag in the struggle. One of the detectives sustained injuries during the altercation. Despite the resistance, the detectives managed to overpower and restrain the suspect until police arrived. The suspect, who is 28 years old, was already wanted in connection with other robbery offenses.
