A two-car crash on the B73 in Hamburg-Heimfeld led to a peculiar discovery on Saturday evening. Police found one driver concealing himself in the trunk of his vehicle after the collision. Authorities later arrested him on suspicion of multiple offences, including a hit-and-run and being an undocumented immigrant in Germany.
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on the B73 highway. Two vehicles collided, but no injuries were reported. Emergency crews arrived promptly, though firefighters had to cut down trees to extricate one of the damaged cars.
The arrested driver now faces charges for hit-and-run, driving without a licence, and being an undocumented immigrant. Traffic on the B73 resumed to normal once the investigation concluded. Police have not released the man’s identity, citing ongoing legal procedures.
