Man hurls bike at departing train after missing connection in Germany
A 42-year-old man threw his bicycle at a departing train after missing his connection at St. Georgen (Black Forest) station. The incident happened on Friday, December 19, 2025, just after 9:20 p.m. and led to significant disruption on the railway line. The man, a German national, allegedly hurled his bike at the train as it pulled away from the platform. The force of the impact caused the bicycle to become lodged, dragging it roughly 400 metres along the tracks. Damage occurred to both the train and the tracks during the incident. After the confrontation, the suspect quickly boarded another train heading to Singen (Hohentwiel). Federal police arrested him upon arrival at Singen station. Authorities confirmed he now faces charges for property damage and dangerous interference with rail traffic. The man’s actions resulted in immediate legal consequences. Police have taken him into custody, and investigations into the full extent of the damage are ongoing. The railway line experienced delays while repairs were carried out.
