Man in custody after alleged stabbing leaves victim critically injured
A 31-year-old man has appeared in court following an alleged stabbing in Bad Frankenhausen. Police launched an attempted homicide investigation after a 32-year-old victim suffered serious injuries on Monday evening.
The incident took place in Bad Frankenhausen, prompting Nordhausen’s criminal police to open an inquiry. The victim, a 32-year-old, was left with severe stab wounds and remains in hospital for treatment.
On Wednesday, the suspect was brought before a magistrate. A remand order was issued, and he was taken into custody at a correctional facility.
Authorities have confirmed no link to other recent crimes in the area. The only unrelated incident in Bad Frankenhausen involved a failed burglary at two medical practices in mid-November 2025.
The investigation into the stabbing continues under Nordhausen’s criminal police. The suspect remains in custody while the victim receives medical care. No further details about the case have been released at this time.
